How UhmeCam works, from the first tap to the second chat
UhmeCam is a site for one-to-one chats that runs in your browser. This page follows a first visit step by step: the guest session, the match screen, profiles and follows, then coins and free matches.

Do you need an account to start?
No. Opening uhmecam.com creates a guest session in your browser, and you can start a match straight away. That session holds your settings, the people you follow and your free matches, so nothing stands between you and the first match. You can add a display name or a photo later if you want; nothing is required.
Because the session lives in your browser, it stays put as long as you use the same device and do not clear site data. If you use the site on a phone, pin it to your home screen. It then opens full screen with its own icon, and you skip the app store entirely.
Which match modes can you choose from?
Video, Audio and Text. Every Start button on the site leads to the match screen, where you pick one of the three along the bottom and press Start. You are then paired with one random person who is matching at the same moment, in the same mode.
Video
Both cameras on. The browser asks for camera and microphone access the first time. Details in the cam chat guide.
Audio
Voice only, microphones on. You hear each other, nobody is seen. Handy with earbuds on a walk.
Text
Typing only, cameras and microphones off. Typed messages can switch language for you.
Once the Next button is active, one tap ends the video chat and the match screen looks for someone else. A text match opens a private chat instead; to meet someone new from there, leave it and press Start again.
How do profiles and follows work?
If you would rather choose than leave it to chance, open the Online list. It lists the people who are on UhmeCam at that moment. Tap anyone to open their profile, where you can look at their photos, follow them, send a message, or open a video chat directly.
Following is how you keep a good conversation from disappearing. Follow someone during a random match or from their profile, and they stay in your list. Afterwards you can write to them and start a video chat from the profile when it suits you both.
Messages work like any messenger: they are delivered and kept so both of you can scroll back. Text messages can be shown in your language automatically, which makes chatting across borders far less of a guessing game.
Short videos and the Live tab
Not everything has to start with a match. Scrolling the short videos is a quick way to get a sense of people: scroll, and when someone makes you curious, open their profile. In the same section there is a Live tab for watching streams that are happening right now.
Users cannot start their own broadcasts; Live is for watching. If you want a one-on-one conversation with someone you saw, their profile is the way in.
The feed suits the evenings when you are not in the mood to talk yet. Five minutes of scrolling often ends with a follow that turns into a chat later in the week.
Free to start
Coins, VIP and the Reward Center: is UhmeCam free?
UhmeCam is free to start. Every new user receives free matches. The Reward Center at the top of the match screen releases more free matches while you stay online, and you can claim them more than once a day. When your free matches run out, further matches use coins.
You buy coins inside the app; the price is shown before you confirm, and they have no cash value. VIP is an optional membership that adds extras for a set period. Neither is required to try the site, and nobody you meet should ever ask you to buy anything for them.

Where safety fits in
Each conversation has exactly two people in it, and the mode you choose decides how much of yourself you share. You can close any chat in a single tap, and Report and Block are on every profile. Reports go to the UhmeCam team, and accounts that ignore the rules get limited or removed.

Do I need to create an account to use UhmeCam?
No. Your first visit sets up a guest session, and you can start matching immediately. Adding a name or photo is optional.
How do I switch between video, voice and text?
Use the mode switch at the bottom of the match screen before you press Start. Each new match uses the mode you selected.
How do I get more free matches?
Open the Reward Center at the top of the match screen. While you stay online it releases more free matches, and you can claim them more than once a day.
What do coins pay for?
Further matches once your free ones are used, plus some other features in the app. Prices are shown before you pay, and coins cannot be turned back into money.
Can I start my own live stream?
No. The Live tab is for watching streams. For a conversation with someone, open their profile or use the match screen.
